We hear a lot about establishing values, especially in organizations. It seems to be trendy to talk about organizational culture and values. I think these are incredibly important, if you actually live them. But what about personal values? I think it is even more important to have personal values because they are the framework for how you live your life. Over the last few years I have been developing a set of personal values. Here they are
My Values
1. A life giving relationship with Christ
2. My family matters most
3. Speak life always
4. Demonstrate the love of Christ at all times, even when people don’t expect it or deserve it
5. Live a life of honesty and transparency
6. My main calling is to be a strong, creative and transparent communicator of the Gospel
7. Life is short, have fun
8. Spend twice as much time listening as you do talking
Now the hard part is actually living them consistently. What do you value?
